“If you worried about falling off the bike, you’d never get on.” – Lance Armstrong

Yes, I’m bragging.  I wont’ apologize for it. My daughter is that awesome.  How many kids can do this before their 5th birthday???  We finally live somewhere that is not surrounded by rocky roads, sand, and potholes.  Big Daddy took the training wheels off and she literally had this big-kid bike thing figured out in a matter of minutes.  Starting, stopping, turning, taking her hands off, lifting up her feet…she can do it all.  She even started standing up to pedal so she “could go faster”.  Incredible.  I shouldn’t be too surprised.  She was zooming down a hill on her scooter just after turning 3.  I have video of that, too, if you don’t believe me.  She has no fear.  Like father, like daughter.  I can’t wait until she is a little bigger and can really manage the waves.  I think she will be a natural at anything requiring good balance and coordination.  Surfing, gymnastics, skiing….there’s no stopping this girl.

While driving in the car with Kyah she presented a question.  “Mommy, where does Jesus live?”  I replied with “Jesus lives in Heaven, sweetie.”  “No, mommy, where does he live?”  ”In the sky?” I answered, not sure how in-depth to get with my little girl.  ”We don’t know exactly where Heaven is, but we know that Jesus is there waiting for all of us that love him to join him some day.”

She wasn’t pleased with my answer yet again, so I asked Big Daddy to take over.  He explained to our little 4 year old where Jesus is and how much he loves us.  She sat in the backseat for only a few seconds before she exhaled heavily and clearly stated, “I know where He lives!  He lives inside of our hearts!”

Thank you God for the simplest reminders.
