we have to endure the most annoying, puppet yielding weather man in the world. Notice how he hides his mouth while his parrot talks. Just obnoxious.
“I’m not trying to brag…”
11 AugI think I should have named this blog “Mom Who Likes to Brag”. I originally started this blog as a way to record some of the moments I otherwise wouldn’t remember. Our move to another country, real life as a missionary (not what some picture it to be…living in a mud hut while eating fried bugs), and cutsie things about my girl were all part of the O.G. plan. I love that the grandmas can get online and see a small snapshot of my little bit growing up. It sucks to be so far away from family. This is a way I can share our life. I don’t want it to appear that all I do is brag, but I guess that’s just the way it is. Maybe if I start each post by saying, “I’m not trying to brag, but…”.
You know the people who always say “I’m just sayin’” ? It has to be sayin’ without the g, too. Or sometimes, if you’re super cool, you drop the I’m and you’re “just sayin’ “.
“Some people are getting on my nerves, just sayin’ “.
“Your thong is hanging out your pants, just sayin’ “.
“Jay Leno isn’t funny, I’m just sayin’ “.
It seriously drives me bonkers, I’m just sayin’. It’s as if they can add “I’m just sayin’” to the end of what they are just sayin’ and it’s supposed to make the offensive or insulting thing they are going to say seem nicer or less whiny. I don’t get it, but I guess I don’t have to. I’m starting my own trend. Here’s to all my future posts that will begin with “I’m not trying to brag…”. Cheers.
Kyah, as I’ve mentioned before, picked up her Spanish rather quickly and without much effort. Must be nice to have that spongy 4-year-old brain. She told me the other day that she wanted to read me a story. She brought in Como Iremos a la Playa?, a book I’ve probably read to her 3 or 4 times. Of course I sat down to listen, expecting her to give me her version of the book, but this is what I heard. Unbelievable! She has memorized the book, in Spanish for crying out loud! So, I brought Big Daddy in the house and recorded the whole shindig to share. This girl amazes me. She says when she gets big like me she wants to be “the teacher”….the word “the” holds a lot of meaning when she says it, too.
Enjoy this cuteness.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.
"Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty."
"I've decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
"If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies."
